The University of Zakho organized with a group of universities the First International Conference on Engineering and Applied Sciences ICONMEAS on 8th and 9th August 2018 at Aydin, Istanbul, Turkey. The conference was organized by the University of Zakho from Kurdistan Region-Iraq, Perlis University from Malaysia, Aydin University from Turkey and Eman Research lab, Australia. Delegations from different countries attended the opening ceremony, from Europe, Asia and the Middle East like; England, Germany, Australia, Algeria, Iraq, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan as well as other countries. In this conference, scientific researches on developed chemical, civil, mechanical and computer engineering were discussed. The conference also shed some light on biological chemistry and other related applied sciences.

It is worth mentioning that a group of deans and vice presidents of universities attended the conference including the President of the University of Zakho-Dr. Lazgin A. Jamil, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies-Dr. Yaseen T.Mustafa and the Director of the International Relations and Affairs-Dr. Ahmad H. Ibrahim from Zakho University. In addition, the president of the University of Zakho attended groups of sections and different research presentations. He was motivating the academic staff and researchers from Iraq and other international regions and sharing his knowledge with them. At the end of the closing ceremony, Dr. Lazgin expressed his gratitude by rewarding the organizing committee the logo trophy of the University of Zakho for the success of the ICONMEAS conference which was received by the chairman of the conference. Also, he awarded a group of speakers from Australia, England and Malaysia armor trophies of the University of Zakho as a kind of appreciation for their efforts in the conference. Lastly, his Excellency awarded an appreciation reward to the host University of Aydin represented by the Dean of the College of Engineering while the organizing committee of IconMEAS represented by the chairman of the conference rewarded the president of the University of Zakho the logo armor trophy of the conference as an honor reward to his efforts.
